Crossing Borders and Drawing Swords!

Latest fairs

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of fairs, new faces, and fresh energy. And for the first time, we didn’t stay within the Dutch borders. Whack went international.

We kicked things off in Belgium, attending BoardGameConnect in Genk and Peer Speelt in Peer. Two fantastic events with two very different crowds, but one thing in common: people who love board games and weren’t shy about letting us know what they thought of Whack. The enthusiasm on the Belgian side of the border was real, and it was incredibly energising to introduce the game to a whole new audience.

Two weeks later we were back on home turf for our third time at Ducosim in Amersfoort, always a warm and familiar crowd, and we wrapped up the busy stretch with Spelfabriek in Heusden-Zolder on Sunday. More new players, more great conversations, and more valuable feedback that will help us make Whack the best it can be.

All these events together have given us a massive boost of fresh energy. That’s exactly what keeps us going!

Sword Gets Sharper

Between all the travelling, we’ve also been hard at work on one of the cards in the deck: the Sword card. The card already had a design, but after some reflection we felt it needed something more. The theme of Whack is built around fun, characterful animals, and the Sword card wasn’t quite living up to that yet.

So we asked ourselves: if a fish could represent an attack… what better creature to pick than the Swordfish?

An initial sketch was put together and we’re now in the process of perfecting it with Mátyás. We think it’s going to be a great addition to the lineup and a fan favourite once people see the final version.

Coming Up

We’re not done yet. Here’s are some fairs where you can find us next:

If you’re going to any of these, come say hi! Sit down, grab some dice, and get Whacked.

We’ll see you there!
